You will have a high level of integrity and understand the need of complete confidentiality.   Who You Are TSC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) to actively participate in a team environment to meet the department, plant goals, and objectives. The FMT will be responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance and will assist as directed with more complex maintenance and repairs of TSC’s facilities and equipment. The FMT will also perform basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC or associated work on TSC facilities using hand and power tools as directed and will troubleshoot equipment or facilities problems and report to the Facilities Supervisor.

The first task of this role will be to establish and maintain manufacturing process flow and documentation for building selected portions of composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs). You will help define what automated production equipment, tools, systems, and materials will be required in order to create an efficient, organized, and lean factory. After production operations begin, you will support automated production development work of the COPVs and work on process improvement and production optimization using lean processes and tools.  **This role will initially be in Long Beach, CA at the site of our sister company, Virgin Orbit. The estimated time in Long Beach is 18 months at which time the role will transition to our campus in Mojave. We are looking for candidates that will commit to relocating as required.

Parts fabricated on these machines will vary widely in material, complexity, and tolerance requirements. Parts produced would be low quantity and rarely repetitive. The ideal person for this role must be able to quickly produce quality hardware with little to no support required from others. The person in this position must be comfortable with frequent design changes and tweaks common in a development or prototype environment.

This role is for hands-on people with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. The first task will be to quickly learn and understand the unique bonding and assembly processes used in the production of these aircraft, and then will oversee the installation and check-out of all aircraft systems, including mechanical, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, environmental, avionics/electrical and propulsion systems. This supervisory position will help refine and improve the production processes, equipment, and tools in order to create an efficient, organized, and lean factory. Each supervisor works hands-on alongside shop floor personnel to produce top quality aircraft and spaceships, and contribute to process improvement using lean processes and tools.

The Specialist Loads Engineer will provide technical leadership and mentorship, enforcing a culture of continual improvement and quality within the Loads & Dynamics Team. The successful candidate will build on an intimate knowledge of all aircraft systems. The engineer will also support instrumentation planning, mission control preparation, data processing, and model evaluation for flight testing and vehicle envelope expansion.
