    Who You Are

    TSC is seeking a Structural Design Engineer with experience in composite aircraft design and production manufacturing. The first task of this role will be to help update prototype design information developed by Scaled Composites and compile designs into a standardized format by reviewing prototype build notes and redlines. The second task will be to define manufacturing tolerances for individual parts and assemblies which will be used as acceptance criteria for suppliers and in-house production operations. Third, engineers in this position will be expected to review planned manufacturing procedures and processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and intentions.

    Your Mission


    • Reviews, updates, and compiles engineering definition of structural components and assemblies based on records from the prototype build project
    •  Develops standardized design criteria and templates using model based definition practices
    • Establishes manufacturing tolerances for production of structural components using GD&T
    • Assists in creating engineering BOM based on prototype design and build configuration
    • Participates in the engineering definition review, approval, and release process
    • Supports review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with design requirements.
    • Supports the creation of structural test plans which will be used to verify manufacturing processes meet design intent and requirements (according to part 25 FAA requirements)


    What you bring


    • 3-5 years’ or more experience in Aircraft Composite fabrication and assembly processes 
    • CAD experience -CATIA V5 mandatory and CATIA Composites (CPD) desired
    • Experience with Model Based Definition, 2D drawing creation
    • GD&T skills experience and ASME Y14.5M-1994
    • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM software) and configuration management 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
    • Excellent Organizational Skills and problem-solving skills 
    • Strong team player 
    • Excellent computer skills, word, excel and PowerPoint 
    • Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) 
    • Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
