    Who You Are

    TSC is seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer with a solid background in mechanical and/or electronic safety analysis to join TSC’s team. This engineer will be responsible to develop one or more of the following: Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) for WhiteKnight2 (WK2) and SpaceShip2 (SS2).


    Your Mission

    • Works with project engineering to develop FTA’s, FHA’s and FMEA’s for existing, new, and modified systems of WK2 or SS2
    • The ability to learn analysis methods such as RCM
    • Detailed knowledge of the interrelationship of the various RMS analysis techniques
    • Experience with one of the following software: Windchill Quality Solutions (formerly RELEX), FaultTree+, Reliasoft or CAFTA
    • Ability to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings, to include schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings
    • Provides technical support and risk advice to production, maintenance management and technical personnel
    • Experience with the system safety methods of ARP4761 or Mil-Std-882C or E
    • Knowledge of software development practices and design assurance methods such as DO-178C or ARP4754A preferred
    • Knowledge of electronic hardware design assurance methods such as DO-254A preferred
    • Experience with Built-In-Test and its application to RMS preferred
    • Experience developing and conducting reliability testing preferred
    • Prior experience in aviation maintenance preferred

    What you bring


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or related scientific field
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of the use and application of aviation technical data such as engineering drawings
    • Experience with CAD software such as Catia preferred
    • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
    • Team player with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision, adaptable to changing environments and handle multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously


    ITAR Requirements

    To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
