    Who You Are

    The primary role for our Assistant Controller will be to provide Accounting support for both the finance team and a broad range of teammate “customers” who rely on timely and accurate accounting support and financial information. The individual will perform a flexible range of activities. This role will be responsible for managing the monthly accounting close process which includes the consolidation and select financial reporting.



    Your Mission

    • Manage the monthly close process
    • Review journal entries complete with necessary supporting documentation and schedules.
    • Review account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
    • Provide account analysis where necessary to appropriately determine accruals or other estimates to be recorded in the general ledger
    • Maintain multiple financial schedules to ensure monthly updates are made and properly recorded in the financial statements
    • Perform technical accounting research to determine appropriate treatment for a variety of transactions under US GAAP and IFRS
    • Prepare supporting schedules for use in financial statements and/or footnote disclosures (US GAAP and IFRS)
    • Assist in providing critical financial information to other teammates within and outside of Finance
    • Assist in coordinating the annual financial statement audit and working with our external auditors on various accounting issues as needed
    • Assist in the continued implementation and development of our Oracle ERP
    • Support financial planning and analysis on bid & proposal efforts and on new programs and projects
    • Perform data extractions & prepare reports to support financial statements.
    • Prepare periodic regulatory filings and other regulatory requirements
    • Play a key role in general process improvements and process documentation for all facets of the accounting cycle as well as the continued development and documentation of our accounting policies and procedures
    • Cultivate internal relations at all levels by providing support and a high level of customer service.
    • Perform various projects such as research, special projects & analysis as needed.
    • Ad hoc projects as directed.

    What you bring

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar is required; CPA strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in overall accounting, with at least 3 years of experience at a Big Four public accounting firm; 7-10 years of experience is strongly preferred.
    • Manufacturing sector experience a plus
    • Strong budget/forecast and financial analysis skills
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of accounting rules to properly interpret and determine applicable accounting treatment.
    • Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and practices. Oracle experience a plus
    • Proven ability to present and explain financial data and analysis to both finance and non-finance audiences
    • Strong administration/time management skills essential
    • Expert level proficiency in all MS Office applications, especially Excel.
    • Must be inquisitive and able to solve problems creatively.
    • Exemplary written and oral communication skills required
    • Creative individual with a keen eye for detail and precision
    • Effective in researching and recommending policies and procedures to all levels of management
    • Demonstrated ability to manage a project from conception to completion
    • Proactive and customer-service oriented individual, with a desire to solve problems and deliver timely and effective solutions
    • Flexible attitude, with the uncanny ability to work well under pressure and with ‘on the spot’ priority situations in a quick and effective manner
    • Willingness and ability to travel if required
