    Who you are

    TSC is seeking first rate qualified composites shop technician to work on composite aircraft production.  This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills.  The first task of this role will be to quickly learn and understand the unique bonding and assembly processes used in the production of these aircraft.  The technician in this position will work from engineering drawings and detailed work instructions to fabricate top quality aircraft and spaceships components.  Entry level through experienced needed.

    Your Mission

    • Composites material handling
    • Cutting composite fabric with scissors
    • Laying up composite fabric by hand in tools to create spaceship and launch vehicle parts
    • Weighing resins and hardener
    • Measuring locations on tools to locate composite fabric per engineering drawings
    • Bagging around the part located in the tool to then be put under vacuum to help consolidate plies and to ensure part takes shape of tool during oven cure
    • Cleaning
    • Hand sanding composite surfaces
    • Dry fitting components
    • Hand finishing parts to fit, hand trimming
    • Wet layup (using adhesives and fabrics)
    • Applying adhesives
    • Fixing/locating structure
    • Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to record job status, time spent, and material tracking
    • Follow instructions precisely to complete complex assemblies accurately
    • Keeping oven areas clean.(Organizing area, rolling tcs, vacuum lines hung up, ect…..)
    • Inspect bags while loading the oven.
    • Balanced oven loading. 
    • Ensure all parts are the same cures.
    • Tug tests on all vacuum lines prior to cure.
    • Ensure no FOD is in the oven prior to cure.
    • Forecast ahead of your cure about ramps, dwells, and end times
    • Know oven safety procedures.(PPE)
    • Know the materials you are curing and identify if those materials can go in the same run

    What you bring

    • Experience with composites or aircraft fabrication and assembly preferred
    • Hands-on experience in a precision yet manual manufacturing setting strongly preferred
    • Hands-on experience in cabinet making, wood working, sewing, car restoration, auto body repair, and other types of manual crafts work preferred
    • Must be able to take direction well
    • Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection
    • Excellent listening and communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills
    • Strong team player
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools a plus
    • Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems a plus
    • Strong safety work ethic – recognizes the importance of properly handing hazardous materials, chemicals, tools, etc.
    • Enjoys manual/physical labor
    • Comfortable working in a non-temperature controlled environment
