Who You Are

The Spaceship Company (TSC) www.thespaceshipcompany.com is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. The responsibilities of this individual will include: developing and managing automated dashboard tools for reporting financial performance, departmental operating performances, and a variety of other dashboards aimed at driving process improvement across the company.  In addition to developing automated dashboards, you will work from historical data to develop forecasting parameters to be used for planning budgets, estimating projects, and supporting bids and proposals. Successful candidates will not only bring strong expertise in developing meaningful performance metrics and dashboards, but will also have a good customer service orientation as they interact with the rest of the TSC team.

 

Your Mission

  • Create intuitive, simple, and meaningful performance dashboards by creating SQL queries into Oracle data tables
  • Coordinates with Finance to develop departmental spend vs budget dashboards, and monthly performance reports
  • Develop logic based notification tools aimed at catching and flagging erroneous transactions within our ERP system
  • Assist in automating the preparation of journal entries, fixed assets reports, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and accruals
  • Assist Finance with streamlining month end and year end closing
  • Provide meaningful metrics, and data, to enable the operations team in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
  • Supports software testing as required with any financial interfaces
  • Supports cost modeling
  • Continuously strive to improve the efficiency of TSC’s accounting systems and processes
  • Manage all relationships in a professional manner
  • Ability to remotely support many customers over multiple locations

What you bring

 

  • 2+ years of relevant SQL programming and dashboard development
  • Experience in an aerospace or operational service environment is preferred
  • Strong experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system – Oracle is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced experience with Excel, Access, and VBA coding is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of a variety accounting concepts, techniques, and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high attention to detail
  • Manage projects with minimal supervision. Proactively addresses actions and issues
  • Forms strong professional working relationships with team members who have limited finance experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Happy to be hands on and work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Outgoing, personable, responsible, self-motivated and confident
  • Resourceful attitude (able to manage emergencies/isolation of location issues)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs (unassisted)
