Who You Are

TSC is seeking a Flight Test Analysis Engineer (FTAE) to support SS2, WK2, and potential new product development and flight testing. The first stage of this role is to become integrated in the prototype SS2 and WK2 test program, working closely with Engineering. The FTE will gain an in depth knowledge of the WK2 and SS2 vehicles, systems and test program and will bring this expertise to assist with the development and execution of the TSC flight test program.



Your Mission

  • The FTAEs define developmental engineering flight test and analysis activities. Functions include developing analysis and tests to meet customer requirements, company standards, and compliance with the Federal Regulations.
  • Assist in the development of test requirements, creation of test plans, test objectives, test execution documentation, safety procedures, infrastructure, and the development, coordination, integration, and conduct of test and evaluation events to include Initial data analysis.
  • Support real time data collection and analysis as part of the control room team as a station engineer. When required by the test plan, FTAEs will support flight test missions from the control room. This will include operations training, and station specific training as required to maintain currency.
  • Provide analysis of flight test data to show compliance to company, customer, and FAA regulations. Analyze flight test data in support of airplane performance using computer based tools in specific phases of flight including takeoff, climb, descent, approach and landing, as well as overall mission analysis.
  • Author test reports to show compliance to regulations for systems under test. Prepare performance data for airplane flight manuals, operations manuals, and certification compliance reports. Prepare performance data for new models and derivatives of current models. Maintain current legacy computer analysis programs. Support development of modified and new software tools and methods.

What you bring

  • Bachelor Degree (engineering degree preferred)
  • At least three years’ experience working as a FTAE or within an aerospace test and evaluation environment
  • Experience preparing test documentation including test requirements and objectives, test plans, test cards/briefs, test readiness reviews, risk assessments and test reports
  • Experience collating test results, analyzing data and evaluating systems
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, MATLAB, ground station and data processing software (IADS is preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player
  • Ground and flight testing experience of new aircraft systems is highly desirable
  • Unique or non-standard flight test experience
  • Flight Test Conductor or Flight Test Control Room experience
  • Working knowledge of aircraft and space systems and familiarity with relevant aerospace standards (FAA, FAA-AST etc).
  • An aircraft pilot’s license is a plus
