    Who You Are

    TSC is seeking a motivated Aircraft Structural Design Engineer. The primary task of this role will be to support the design of our new space vehicles. This role involves working closely with the composite technicians and vehicle mechanics to ensure our flight vehicle is safe to fly and meets structural design requirements. This role functions in a fast-paced flight test environment. This person will need to be able to support work on off-Fridays and weekends as required.

    Your Mission

    • Develop CATIA 3D models, CATIA CPD definition, and 2D engineering definition for detail parts, assemblies, and installations.  Appropriate training will be provided for all software.
    • Support part fabrication and manufacturing installation/assembly
    • Work with the shop to resolve manufacturing non-conformances
    • Develop structural repairs and modifications to support flight test vehicle
    • Coordinate with suppliers for outsourced part fabrication

    What you bring

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in Aeronautical, Astronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering
    • 1-5 years of relevant industry experience
    • Experience in aircraft structural design
    • Structural MRB experience is desirable
    • Demonstrated proficiency in CATIA V5 or equivalent software is required 
    • Competency in first order design principles is a must
    • Working knowledge of air vehicle systems, structures/systems integration, engineering design, and the drawing release process
    • Experience defining engineering associated with vehicle composite structural modifications
    • Experience writing manufacturing work instructions
    • Introductory knowledge of manufacturing methods for various materials (composite layup, metal machining, 3D printing, bonded assembly, mechanical assembly)
    • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
    • Knowledge with various composite material systems
    • Knowledge of NDT techniques and basic interpretation of data
    • GD&T experience desirable
    • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM software), manufacturing ERP systems, requirements management tools and configuration management
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong team player and ability to work independently with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
