Who You Are

TSC is looking for a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering design, development, testing and qualification of White Knight Two, Serial Number Two. In this role, the CE is responsible for the overall technical design of the vehicle. The CE manages the cross-functional engineering team required to complete the program, and to coordinate with key stakeholders – Program Management, Production, Supply Chain, Flight Test, Maintenance, etc, - to complete engineering activities in accordance with Program requirements.

 

Your Mission

  • Has overall technical responsibility for the design, development, build, test and qualification of the vehicle.
  • Responsible to the Program Manager and Engineering leadership for meeting program cost and schedule requirements, and managing overall engineering program scope.
  • Leads the cross-functional engineering team to complete the program, and coordinates with other stakeholders in the Program Team.
  • Develops Engineering plans in support of program requirements, to include Systems Engineering Management Plans, Test Management Plans, Validation and Verification Plans and other engineering development plans.
  • Leads the development and validation of the vehicle technical requirements in support of overall program requirements.
  • Develops project schedules for the Engineering activities, and manages the completion of those activities.
  • Communicates the overall Engineering objectives, goals and schedule for the program to the Engineering team for the project.
  • Assign and prioritize responsibilities for engineering tasks.
  • Review status of engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective action to meet schedule.
  • Provide oversight of the work scope to include plans, budget, schedule, and report regularly on engineering program status to leadership.
  • Other duties as required in support of Engineering Leadership and Program Requirements.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and empower a team of subject matter experts in varying technical disciplines.
  • Understanding of aircraft design and engineering processes, including Model Based Definition, Product Lifecycle Management, Configuration Management, Configuration Control, ERP and MRP systems.
  • Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
  • Execute strategic goals and objectives in support of the overall company goals and objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
