The Spaceship Company (TSC) is an affiliate of Virgin Galactic as a space-system manufacturing organization. Headquartered at Mojave Air and Space Port in Mojave, California, it is building and testing a fleet of WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft and SpaceShipTwo reusable spaceships that, together, form Virgin Galactic’s human spaceflight system. Like many Virgin companies across the world, its team of over 350 talented and dedicated engineers, technicians and professionals are drawn together by a willingness to disrupt and challenge the status quo and deliver innovative aerospace solutions to our customers’ needs. Who You Are
TSC is seeking a first rate, qualified Materials Handler / Gerber Operator to play a key role in facilitating the cutting and kitting of raw materials and supplies necessary to establish and operate the world’s first commercial manned spacecraft production company. The Material Handler / Gerber Operator will use computerized cutting table along with computerized inventory tracking systems to control stores and consumable inventory movement activities in the stockroom, kitting of materials and consumables for production, ensuring efficient quantities of materials are on hand for production, and deliveries to internal stakeholders. Candidate’s duties will also include processing internal material movements and replenishments along with Tool crib duties.
Ideal candidates should have a work history that demonstrates their ability to successfully work in an environment that requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, have excellent computer skills, have good customer service skills, and have prior experience in a fast- paced manufacturing environment.
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
