The Spaceship Company (TSC) is an affiliate of Virgin Galactic as a space-system manufacturing organization.

Headquartered at Mojave Air and Space Port in Mojave, California, it is building and testing a fleet of WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft and SpaceShipTwo reusable spaceships that, together, form Virgin Galactic’s human spaceflight system. Who You Are

As the People Development Trainer, you will develop and facilitate programs and workshops for staff development and leadership growth.  The first task of this role will be to quickly learn and understand the development needs of our teams and leadership in order to develop the right opportunities for progression.  The trainer in this position will continuously help refine and improve training and development processes and courses.  Outside of facilitating workshops, the Trainer will work with training developers and various customers with training needs to assist in developing high quality training.

Your Mission

  • Prepare training material and prep area for class
  • Facilitate workshops for Leadership and various teams
  • Help fine tune training skills and scheduling to maximize efficiency
  • Evaluate and follow up with class participants
  • Continuously enhance material delivery and presentation skills
  • Assist in developing training content for various teams  by working with Leaders, Subject Matter Experts, and the People Business Partners to incorporate appropriate skills into training development
  • Assist in developing and editing new course material in various formats such as Computer Based Training, Video, Hands On Activities and PowerPoint presentations
  • Encourage and provide development and training opportunities for all team members through excellent coaching and leadership skills
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, innovation, and creativity by experimenting with new techniques and material

 

What you bring

  • Two or more years of workshop facilitation, specifically in the areas of people and leadership skills development
  • Experience developing and revising training materials (creativity is a strong plus!)
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Able to work with and teach various personality types
  • Sense of humor a plus!
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Associates Degree in relevant area (Organizational Development, Teaching, Human Resources) a plus
  • Experience with manufacturing environment a plus
