Your Mission

The Spaceship Company (TSC) is seeking a Senior Oracle Project Accountant to join our team!

 

The Senior Oracle Project Accountant will:

  • Lead in managing the Oracle Project module from a Finance perspective
  • Develop and manage reporting tools surrounding project financial performance
  • Work in conjunction with other key stakeholders in estimating, planning and leading Oracle Project implementation
  • Identify, translate and map business reporting requirements from all key decision makers
  • Design the set up and configuration of the Oracle Project module, including Auto-Accounting rules and other table maintenance
  • Perform gap analysis to determine ERP system configuration and development changes
  • Support business development proposal efforts with historical project data
  • Develop controls to protect the integrity of Oracle Project data input/output
  • Govern the distribution of project data for the purpose of decision making
  • Develop processes and assist in managing project budget to actuals
  • Lead in automating Project related period close activities and reconciliation processes
  • Identify and correct various matters that may arise during implementation, month-end close, reconciliations and other Project processes
  • Implement industry best practices
  • Oversee the proper creation and timely closure of projects and tasks
  • Create work instructions and train users as necessary

What you bring

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years in public accounting or 4+ years in private accounting with focus on project reporting
  • 2+ years of relevant SQL programming or other big data reporting tools
  • 5+ years of relevant experience on Oracle Project Accounting, including setup
  • 5+ years of experience with Project Costing, Billing, Contracts
  • Should have worked at least one end-to-end Oracle R12 implementation in Oracle Financials with Project Accounting module
  • Experience with developing project reporting from ground up or other customization
  • Knowledge on period-close activities and reconciliation processes
  • Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and research methodologies
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and VBA coding
  • Effective and efficient time-management skills
  • All candidates must be US Persons due to the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Government contract experience a plus
  • Some higher education in information technology a plus
  • Forward-thinking business partner to key decision makers
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all spectrum of the organization (Vice Presidents, department leads, program managers, engineers, technicians)
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Can be both self-sufficient and a team player
  • Outgoing, personable, responsible, self-motivated and confident with a positive attitude
  • Experience in an aerospace or other project-driven industries

ITAR Requirements

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
