Who You Are
TSC is seeking a first rate aerospace mechanical systems engineer with experience in mechanical system design and manufacturing. The primary task of this role will be to do detailed design and systems layout work for vehicle integration. Additionally the engineer in this role will be required to interface with structural analysis, manufacturing and maintenance teams.

 

Your Mission

  • Helps develop and refine requirements for the mechanical systems based on customer requirements 
  • Evaluates data from the prototype program for verification and validation purposes and identifies further testing or development work
  • Reviews, updates, and compiles engineering definition of aircraft system components and assemblies
  • Establishes manufacturing tolerances for production of components using GD&T
  • Supports review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with design requirements
  • Supports the creation of system test plans which will be used to verify manufacturing processes meet design intent and requirements
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with CATIA V5
  • Experience in aerospace mechanical system design, assembly and test processes
  • Minimum of 5+ years relevant industry experience
  • Experience with Model Based Definition, GD&T skills through experience and/or formal training
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM software), Requirements management tools and configuration management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication,  excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong team player with excellent organizational  and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience with AS9100 a plus
  • Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
  • Experience with manufacturing based ERP systems a plus
