Your Mission

TSC is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to manage all facilities and maintenance projects and vendors for multiple aerospace manufacturing facilities on our Mojave campus – a campus that is designing, building and testing innovative systems that will open space to change the world for good. This position will lead construction, remodelling, installation, improvements, inspections, repairs, trouble shooting and daily maintenance of buildings, infrastructures, and facility equipment. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for keeping facilities in good status to comply with county and state codes, as well as environmental, health, and safety policies.

  • Overall leadership responsibility for overseeing the implementation of policies, procedures and projects that will lead to a well-managed, well-maintained building and facilities in coordination and conjunction with the company’s business objectives.
  • Leads our talented team of project leads, mechanics and facility technicians to deliver all aspects of the facility function.
  • Ensures facility regulatory compliance (including ITAR policy, building code, OSHA, ADA etc.) and effective management of risk and liability for the company, including maintaining files and policy documents in order to support audits.
  • Delivers an effective, comprehensive Preventative Maintenance plan that ensures all equipment and buildings are safely maintained on schedule in coordination with manufacturing and other departments.
  • Prepares and reviews budgets, provides financial reporting (as required), develops and manages contract terms, monitors expenditure and purchase orders related to the facilities.
  • Participates in negotiation of service contracts with internal and external suppliers/customers to achieve the highest levels of performance in compliance with the organization's values, standards, and guidelines for business conduct.
  • Team organization and communications to provide 24/7 response to facility issues that may arise (power outage, security, equipment failure, weather damage, event planning etc.).

  • Analyses and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Maintains facilities time and cost reporting records.

  • Confers with other directors, managers and supervisors to coordinate activities of facilities department.

  • Confers with workers' representatives and Human Resources to resolve grievances.

  • Comply with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.

  • Ability to recognize and act in a preventative manner on any issues that may affect operations.

  • Ability to produce schedules and report progress on projects.

  • Recognized Project Management qualification and/or proven experience in managing construction based projects.

  • Track record of building solid, respectful and supportive relationships with permitting authorities.

  • Possess a positive "Can Do" attitude by stepping up and taking additional responsibilities and adapting to changes in this fast paced environment.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience directly supervising and managing staff, including experience in planning and assigning work, performance assessments, training, hiring, discipline, and development.

  • Experience working with IT systems for facility/equipment maintenance.

  • Strong customer service focus.

  • Practical approach / leads by example. Comfortable being ‘hands on’ and working closely with cross-functional teams.

  • All candidates must be US Persons due to the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Education Requirement:

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Current or previous holder of a Contractor's License preferred.

Physical and/or Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work all shifts and available on weekends when needed
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods - 9 hours min.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl and be able to maneuver in tight spaces
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs (unassisted).
