Who You Are
As a Project Specialist you will provide professional and proactive mission-oriented project and support to the TSC Operations team in the Mojave, CA facility. You will support staff and members on special projects from the standpoint of operations, training, and support documentation development. Allocating resources, creating schedules, managing daily operations will be essential to the role. You must be able to problem-solve and troubleshoot all project issues in a timely manner.


It will be key to become versed and aware of all resources utilized within each project to ensure accurate results. Ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to apply working knowledge of general analytical tools, communicate effectively by written and verbal means, and integrate the contributions of others. Being able to effectively manage multiple tasks and timelines is essential. You must be able to work well independently as well as a key player within a team.

Your Mission

  • Integrate relationships between business units and central corporate functions to ensure success in meeting business and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Maintain Preventative Maintenance and daily Work Order tickets by scheduling, assigning to technician(s), and closing completed tickets in conjunction with the department Lead and Supervisor.
  • Identify and facilitates resolution of operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate shared services and internal business units.
  • Assist in developing project plans for assigned projects within Operations.
  • Review status of projects, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.
  • Oversee and track milestones of project tasks.
  • Plan and confirm material availability for service and rework by interfacing with Lead and assigned Technicians.
  • Create and process all Purchase Orders. Prepare rush orders if necessary and initiate necessary follow-up.
  • Provide input in decisions related to outsourcing of parts due to scheduling constraints; work closely with Facilities Management to approve.
  • Accountable to deliver business case of assigned projects within their defined responsibility in line with project assumptions.
  • Communicate as needed to keep the project aligned with the changing needs of the business.
  • Support individual projects with project management discipline and attention to all key areas including but not limited to stakeholder, scope, cost, and time management.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve completion of projects.
  • Negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

What you bring

Education and Experience.  Preferably have a BS/BA with 3+ years in project support specialist/ executive administrative setting, ideally in aerospace or manufacturing. Experience in a start-up organization or a highly unique cultural environment. Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).


  • 2 or more year’s maintenance experience a plus.
  • Prior CMMS experience desirable.
  • Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote.
  • Strong organizational skills to organize and prioritize multiple project tasks on a daily basis.
  • Exceptional attention to details to consistently complete tasks without mistakes or violations.
  • Capable of handling a large workload, effectively coordinate with multiple resources and multi-task in a fast paced environment that may often have competing priorities with minimal assistance.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written with the ability to articulate requirements/actions/needs in a professional tone and attitude; exchange information to facilitate positive and efficient work processes and results (including written correspondence).
  • Strong teaming and collaboration skills that foster office unity and cohesiveness in support of TSC goals, mission and standards.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
  • Proven ability to oversee processes to achieve objectives
  • Ability to build strong business relationships with other functional areas to best support mutual objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze work flow/processes in order to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Effective skills in conducting research into project-related issues and products.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and interact with staff at varying levels of experience.

Physical and/or Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs (unassisted).
