Who you are

The Spaceship Company (TSC) is seeking a Propulsion Avionics Test Engineer. This position will be responsible for the “hands-on” development and operation of Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) testing of propulsion avionics components (including controllers, valves and instrumentation) on SpaceShipTwo. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a full-time position at the TSC aerospace facility in Mojave, California.

Your Mission

  • Develop HITL test systems for flight avionics hardware/software test verification
  • Develop and maintain rocket motor and propulsion health monitoring systems
  • Support propulsion component development, integration, and qualification efforts.
  • Support propulsion test operations, including rocket motor qualification and development
  • Develop test electronics and instrumentation as needed to support all test activities.
  • Support acceptance testing data reduction and post fire anomaly resolution

What you bring

  • BS in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace or comparable Engineering in a related field
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience is preferred (will consider less with right aptitude)
  • Flight hardware assembly, vehicle integration & hardware-in-the-loop testing experience
  • Experience with National Instruments (NI) Data Acquisition and Control Systems (DACS)
  • Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Labview, Veristand and C/C++ programming
  • Safety critical electronics and hardware design, modelling, and validation experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint
