Who You Are
TSC is seeking first rate qualified Production Lead to supervise and lead our team of electrical and avionics technicians. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. The Lead will work from engineering drawings and detailed work instructions to fabricate, install, and check out aircraft and spaceship system hardware components including electrical and mechanical systems. The main priority for this role will be to execute the installation of the aircraft electrical and avionics systems.  The Lead in this position will lead the electrical/avionics staff in order to create an efficient and organized Avionics Production Department.

Your Mission

  • Hands‐on aircraft avionics installation and manufacturing.
  • Electrical systems installation: layout and buildup of wire harnesses, splicing, crimping, installing, connecting, soldering, and checking out of electrical lines.
  • Electrical system checkout including functional testing and troubleshooting of all aircraft electrical systems.
  • Computer work: Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to record job status, time spent, and material tracking.
  • Follow instructions precisely to complete complex assemblies accurately.
  • Identify production inefficiencies and suggest potential improvements to product or process.
  • Assigning daily tasks to shop personnel as required meeting daily milestones.
  • Work closely with production planner to forecast completion dates and estimate work package durations.
  • Encourage and provide development and training opportunities for shop personnel through excellent coaching and leadership skills.

What you bring

  • Experience with aircraft avionics installation, assembly, or modification required.
  • Experience in a Lead role responsible for leading a team, maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, and rewarding or disciplining actions and behaviors preferred.
  • Knowledgeable and able to interpret blueprints, sketches and written and verbal instructions.
  • Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools a plus.
  • Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems a plus.
  • Strong safety work ethic – recognizes the importance of properly handing hazardous materials, chemicals, tools, etc.
  • Enjoys manual/physical labor.
  • FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License would be a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a non-temperature controlled environment.
  • Familiar with FAA AC 43.13-1B, or AS50881 Standard.
  • Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Educational Requirements
   Technical school or formal electronics training a plus.
   High School Diploma or equivalent.
